Bored...

I'm getting kinda bored with the Supernatural fandom in general *sigh* Don't get me wrong, I love the show as much as before and I adore the fics but I think I will stay away from the fandom comms for at least a couple of days.

And nope, it's not because of wanks or anything. It's just... All I see these days are gushy posts about Jensen and Danneel. Or Jared and Sandy. Are they engaged or not? Are they married or not? And they were there and doing that. Et cetera. Et cetera. It feels like Gossip Central.

As much as I like the J2, I'm not all that interested in their personal life to be honest. I miss the times when people talked more about the show than about the dating habits of its protagonists. And as cute as Sandy and Danneel surely are, I'm not interested in either of them either. It's nothing personal, I just have yet to see any of their shows/movies and their personal life is their own thing and not mine.

Hiatus is a bitch, really *shakes head*

I've recognized the switch in myself, too, gradual, but it's happened. Back two seasons ago, I was insanely obsessed with the Js and their gfs. But it's changed so much now. I find myself caring less and less about the boys' personal lives and caring more and more about the fanfics (both Wincest and J2 AUs).

It's awesome that they have gfs and are happy. That's basically all I need to know. I adore people who are happy for them as well, but sometimes, seeing posts that say, "Oh, they need to get married and make a gazillion babies now," freak me the hell out. Seriously, no pressure there from the fans and the public at all :P (and yes, i get self-conscious when people ask that of me IRL - it's like wtf? you want me to marry my bf and make babies for you to see??!)

Summing it up, I'm with you. Just read the fanfics, stay away FROM SPOILERS, and take a break from SPN. That's what I'm doing :D Fanfics, books, other stuff, etc, etc, and before we know it, April 24 will be here ♥

I think all the entries about Jensen's birthday and then lately the pics of Jared and Sandy doing this or that were the last straw that broke the proverbial camel's back.

I used to be so obsessed with the J2 but now... I just don't know. Maybe when there was LESS of that, it was more interesting. Now, I feel kinda stuffed.

I decided to do the same thing: read books and fanfics, my flist but that's all. I really need to take a break from all the hype in the comms...

BTW - books... Do you have a GoodReads account? I'm not sure if I asked you that already ;P I'm stalking all my friends over there. At least the ones that I recognize by name :D

I recognized it when I just can't muster up anything when I read the Js' newest interviews, etc. I'm thrilled to see them, but the level of excitement is just not the same as with the stuff on SPN itself.

I am not on GoodReads, but now that you mention it, I will definitely check it out and maybe open an account? :D I've been kind of lazy with the book reading, so I should really kick myself back into the queue.

I hear ya. Fandom = scary place. Lurking on the fringes has always been my preference. Feels safer back there in the shadows. I love the show, admire the actors, but am not interested in their personal lives beyond hoping they are both happy and fulfilled.

Having said that, I did mention Jensen's birthday on my journal, which I don't normally do, but it was appendix to a larger post, and 30 is kind of a milestone...

Exactly. I adore the show to pieces, really. And Jared and Jensen are awesome while filming, bickering and playing jokes on others. But I really don't care about who they are with. I'm just happy that they are happy. That's all :)

And no wonder that there were a lot of entries about Jensen's birthday. 30 is a nice round number :) But in some comms, people were simply overdoing it. Instead of making one post where everybody could link their congratulations etc., there were like dozens glittering, glaring entries... *groans* Too much is simply too much.

I'm a firm J2 shipper so yeah, I'm NOT in a very happy place right now. But wth, it has got to happen sooner or later ( preferably never ). I got over it when Matt Damon and Ben Affleck didn't get married to each other ( ha!! ) and they're still my OTP. Though it helps that those two are genuininely BFF :)

Hehe, I'm just happy that they are happy and content with their personal life. I just don't have to follow them step by step through every day when they are not filming. Sometimes knowing less is better. For the actors and the fans too :)

I like Sandy - but I liked her before I know she and Jared were togther.. I remember actuly saying "Hang on he's dateing the vocab ho?"

Mostly I think it's the bordem factor of hiatus...

I miss discussing the show - no one ever dose that anymore...

Exactly! I would like to discuss Dean's deal. The new villain. Sam's demon blood. Anything! But talking in detail about who they date and when and how often etc., it feels too much like gossiping, really X(

there has been less and less discussin of the show over the past 3 years. But it also feels liek anytime people start discussing it degenerates into a "You are wrong!" thing.

Other pet peeves: "the Jenesn is a better actor and more handsome and Dean is the better chericter - so why would anyone like Jared/Sam?" thing.

The fandom is becomeing more and more contensious - adn it's tiresome.

Now don't get me wrong - like I said I like Jared and Sandy togehter - but I belong to Sandywack not that it's an active com... but still.

Word, girl! I mean, when we knew less it was more... intriguing, I guess. Too much info makes me feel... stuffed. Or better said, over-stuffed. I lose interest. I think I just need a break, to step back for a while.
