Ratings and other interesting stuff...

Last night's shows on the CW network? Let's just say ouch, ouch, ouch! The premiere of America's Next Top Model - their huzzah huzzah best show and Ostroff's baby - 3.80 mil. viewers and 1.9/5 adults, the repeat of Pussycat Dolls 1.87 mil. viewers and 0.8/2 demo. All I can say is ouch! again...

Why do I post the ratings of shows that I don't even watch? To compare. People say that Supernatural is doing bad - but compare SPN's ratings to ANTM's. ANTM is said to be the flag ship of the CW. If it is so, then it's sinking fast. On the one hand, it's good for SPN, on the other hand, the whole network is failing...

And since I'm already talking about the CW - according to this article, it's possible that NBC will share - whatever that means in their hush-hush way of speaking - Friday Night Lights either with the CW, E!, G4 or TNT. I think that the CW could only benefit from that - I mean, they did lose Friday Night Smackdown and so far, they have no new pilots of their own planned for the next season - and fans would be happy...

This seriously made me laugh. More than I can express. That PCD show that they thought was going to be SUCH a hit. It sucked (in the ratings) the first night it aired, and didn't do all that much better after putting it behind a powerhouse hit, like ANTM. And I don't care if ANTM didn't do great either. Look at the drop off in numbers between the shows. That says something right there as well.

I think that Ostroff must be getting mighty nervous. I mean, all of her sure-of hits are failing, one after the other.

That is what she gets for pushing for her female driven shows instead of sticking with what works and standing behind that.

Exactly! I mean, I don't mind female heroes - Vicki Nelson aka Christine Cox was awesome - but if it does NOT work, she shouldn't push it! I mean, look at SV and SPN. As long as they stick to Clark and Lex on SV and Sam and Dean on SPN, ratings go up. Pop in a girl - rock bottom. It's ridiculous!

I think the CW might hold on for two, maybe three more years, thus giving SPN time to complete an honourable run of 5 Seasons/100 episodes. And then it`s Sayonara.

The FNL-thing could work out or not. I`m having a difficult time picturing CBS as CW`s co-owner wanting to nurture along a show from their failing rival NBC. Warner probably could care less so it might be a toss-up.

I would happy if it lasted long enough for SPN to reach its end. Then it can implode for what I care.

I think that FNL would be good for the CW. But only if they bought it from NBC fully, not as a shared project. I think that it would do as good as OTH on the CW and it would bring them new viewers.

OMG that would be the best thing if the CW got FNL. I hear NBC is ready to ax it and the last episode that was filmed was a huge cliffhanger. FNL gets around 6 million in ratings, I think. That's crappy for NBC, but amazing for the CW, lol. I'm sure the ratings would drop, but... who knows. The FNL fans are a pretty persistent bunch, though. They're sending thousands of plastic footballs to the execs at NBC in an attempt to get the show renewed.

I don't watch FNL but I know that there are fans of the show on my flist, that's why I posted it. I think that FNL would be right up the CW's alley with its young audience. Even if it brought in only a half of its NBC audience, the CW could be more than happy about the ratings!
