I very much like and adore Jared Padalecki. Now. When he was a teenager, not so much. Really. On Gilmore Girls, he was the "skinny beanpole" for me and I was kinda meh! about him. Even in the first eps of SPN, he looked very skinny.

But then, wow! During the first season, he filled in so nicely! *swoons* Especially his face doesn't look gaunt anymore, let alone his body *melts* Some men look funny when they gain muscles, kinda fat in the face - Joe Penny to name just one - but Jared looks awesome!

It's similar with Jensen. He was a beautiful teenager - let's face it, he really was: pouty lips, huge eyes, amazing body... But as an adult! He really does make my heart beat faster though I would prefer his hair a bit longer, the way it was in S1 - I don't understand why they still feel the need to make him look older than Jared because these days, with Jared so filled in, he could look older only if they added grey hair XP

So yeah, I very much prefer the adult J2! :)

And since we are talking about the J2 already. I find it funny when fans who adore Ruby/Bela/Jo start yelling at the fans who don't like these female characters that they are just jealous, that they want to see themselves in Ruby/Bela/Jo's place... (See the responses to Kripke's latest interview over in TV.com.)

Err, not. This is not about some twisted female jealousy. I like Ruby, but I could do without Bela/Jo but not because I would like to take their place as Dean's lover. In my own little fantasy, it's Sam who takes the girls' place, as twisted as it might seem to some fans XD So you definitely won't see me write long novels about Dean/Me or, god forbid, Jensen/Me (there really are fics like that, labeled Jensen/OFC and the OFC's name is eerily similar to the author's - skip! skip! skip!).

But since it's the so called "fans" of these girls who come up with these accusations, one has to wonder... It's like with the "thou protest too much!" saying...

Ah, and another thing... some fans' reaction to the latest episodes of SPN. The pagan believers and wannabe witches flamed the heck ouf the episodes, how Kripke doesn't respect the pagan belief and how the witches are portrayed as deranged hags which causes people to discriminate them in RL. Right. Twisting Christian belief - angels, devils, hell and heaven - is okay. But god forbid they touch the pagans!

These days, I don't wonder anymore that "outsiders" consider the SPN fans nutty in the head! *shakes head*

Why don't we enjoy the show and leave all this 'deep' stuff? I take the show, i like or dislike some characters but never attack those who disagree.
Oh yes, Jared grew up from a baby to a babe!

Exactly. I say what I think about this or that in my own LJ but I don't go and troll other people who like those things that I don't. To each its own :)

I hadn't really thought of that! I mean, I knew it was going to stir up shit but I hadn't thought about the fact that they mess with every other culture and religion too. lol. And you know, they don't really make it all out to be bad. They make good mentions of the pentagram. Some should at least take heart in that.

And man, I have to agree with you. I don't see myself in one of the girls place. I see Sam or Jared. And that is it. I don't necessarily have a problem with teh het but gay is just so much better. If I was given the choice between sleeping with Dean or watching Dean sleep with Sam? Oh god. I wouldn't even blink before answering with the latter.

Exactly. I just don't get this religious obsession. It's a frickin' TV show! X(

Oh, I have to agree! I would so love to see Sam and Dean make out. That would be much preferable to me making out with any of them! :)

I think there is a lot of jealously- and it stems from some Mary Sue fan girls to the hardcore j2 lovers. I personally liked Jo, but as her own character, not a potential love interest because it was almost too "forced" and would change the dynamic of what I liked out of the two male characters. She was written to slot into Dean's character a little too much that was just too hard gelling from a sudden introduction. With Ruby- I preferred her role into the story line far more than Bela's because there's a reason for her to be around- though with Bela, she was written as a "one off" and has since developed a back story to tie her into the storyline more. But it’s a clichéd format with the British thief and one that bothered me because I am British and I found the clichéd medium of her character frustrating and boring. I don’t want to see Bela with a softer side. I think it’s actually cooler that she is this hardcore individual who does things for her self- not because of some tip toed shady background. But to have her in for loooong periods in the story, for me, doesn't seem to make sense. With the recent ep (I’m coming up to date with the SPN - its started in the UK, but I tend to watch it on youtube after airing in America) I found that there could be potential with Ruby and Dean- though I don’t want it to jar the relationship I like with Sam/Dean and it solely being on them. I think love interests can develop characters, sure, but it can change a dynamic which is the sometimes the purpose and reason you began watching the show. I also think love interests can also weaken characters. (Spike and Buffy come in to mind. What I loved about Spike in the first seasons with him and Drusilla was vastly different to Buffy/Spike relationship- some of it good, some bad imo). I felt that at the time of the new lady guests, I was shaking my head saying Kripke, I am not an idiot, these are love interests! But I will actually be quite happy if they stay true to what he says and actual potential CHARACTERS, not just the love interests (if that makes sense). I find it odd that there is a divide with the girls. Acting wise or just who the actresses are- but I think in any female role, there would be the same kind of divide. If I had to choose which camp to park my opinion, I think I can tolerate Ruby’s character way more than Bela because I like how and can see how she fits in the dynamic of the show and the potential she has with the plot – and not being a love interest, but being an actual ‘character’ we may like and feel for.

Oohh i went on and on!! :) I meant this all nicely and positively, not negative and nashing my teeth! :)

Yes, that's what I hate about Bela the most. She's a walking/talking cliché. As I called her in on of my entries: a deranged, horny Lara Croft. And they have to hammer it really good that she's awesome and classy. Oh, and she's definitely not a love interest *snort* And what's the first thing that Lauren Cohan blubbers about? How the fans would adore to see Bela and Dean as a couple... In what world does she live?

At least Katie Cassidy is much more reserved with such statements. And Ruby is a very good character on her own, not just a tag-on.

I liked Jo as Dean's "little sister". I think their dynamics in later eps was really good, once they dropped the love interest thing. It was quite interesting to see Dean behave all brotherly towards a girl! To be the one who is chased, not the one doing the chasing :D It was quite funny to see him squirm whenever Jo started making eyes at him. My favorite scene in ELAC is the one where he tells her that any other time he would try to get into her pants but not now :)

Yeah, this is something that bothers me, too. So, they deserve the respect, but don't care about the others? I think like everyone deserves respect, if they ought to play with beliefs, they can and should play with all, and not do the "this one is good versus this one is bad".

I just don't get why some religion deserves MORE respect. Are the people so used to Christian belief being twisted that they don't even notice anymore but when it's some other religion, it's the worst thing ever? I mean, should only the Christians be all understanding or what?! It's just a frickin' TV show!

Jensen was pretty as a teen, but GORGEOUS now. I really wasn't attracted to him when he was younger. But now it's like, VA VA VOOM, you know? And Jared, well, I've always loved him since I first saw him in Gilmore Girls. He was just so lovable-looking to me, hahaha. Of course now he's just as much of a hotass as Jensen. Big change from Gilmore Girls.

I hate the "YOU'RE JUST JEALOUS OF RUBY/BELA/JO" argument. It's stupid as hell and it's all they ever SAY. Jeez, just stfu, fandom. Or think up something logical!

I hate it when people get offended over things on SPN. So many people get offended when they use the words bitch and whore on women, and start screaming about misogyny. Hell, you can barely say ANYTHING bad about the women on SPN without some deranged fangirl calling you a misogynist. And man, I can't believe all the witches that were offended by 3.09. IT'S A TV SHOW, NOT REALITY. OMG. This fandom is just batshit.

I think that Jensen was really gorgeous as teenager and I don't wonder that there are so many fics about Dean being molested as a teenager because he really was pervs' dream come true XP

I don't know when it started, the whole thing about Kripke treating the pagans and witches and women bad. I think it's just this season. I noticed that from ep 3x01, people always found something bad in Dean's lines specifically. Like the "you're so gay" in Bedtime Stories - they immediately went apeshit about Dean being homophobic. Of Dick Chaney being on Lucifer's list - that was an uproar, really *shakes head* It's a frickin' TV show!
