Male heroes?

katikatDear gods of books, what happened to the good old male heroes? These days, every frickin' paranormal book has to have a female heroine as the main player. How... unoriginal, really. I mean, Hamilton's Anita Blake, Douglas' Delilah Street, Vaughn's Kitty Norville, Saintcrow's Dante Valentine, Stein's Anna Strong, Black's Morgan Kinsley... And those are just the first ones that popped up on my Amazon page! There are so few Harry Dresdens and John Taylors or Tony Fosters that it's getting ridiculous! I mean, come on! Some variety would be nice there, really!
