Of work and Route 666
Jan. 22nd, 2008 09:33 amI've been translating "Dragons of a Lost Star" by Weis & Hickman these days and I have only one thing to say: Please, someone, anyone, kill off Silvanoshei! And soon. He makes the book painful to read let alone translate *whimpers*
Last night, I clicked through SPN's Route 666. And I must say that I don't understand why some fans dislike this ep so much. I think it's awesome.
I mean, Sam finds out something about Dean's past. We see Dean all research-y. There is an awesome car chase. The special effects of the truck going all ka-boom-y around the Impala are awesome. Dean's "I'm going to kill him" in response to Sam's "Maybe" is histerically funny. And Dean's voice in this episode? It sounds much softer, almost boy-ish, I didn't even recognize it at first! O.o
I know that some fans had some problems with Cassie. Sure, she isn't the greatest under the sun but she's much better than Dean's current not-love-interest - you know who I'm talking about.
So yeah, a very very good episode! *bounces*
Heh, my mum bought me the cheap version of the Alexander DVD this morning, you know, the one that tabloids use as an insert, cheap paper cover, not much specials etc. but it costs only 2 bucks! Colin Farrel and Jared Leto *sigh* The only scenes worth watching in this movie *nods*

'Alexander' is a great and misunderstood movie

Kripke didn't like Route 666, either >< I think except for Provenance, he hasn't liked any of the episodes with love interests (Hookman, No Exit, Red Sky). But Sarah was exceptional, I really liked her, too. They should write more women like her and Cassie and that sexy lawyer from Folsom Prison Blues!

I think that the girl that I liked best with him was Carmen. She was a great love interest. In non-love-interest-y way, I loved sheriff Kathleen from Benders. Oh my, she would be a great hunter!
For Sam definitely Sarah. If they wanted to bring someone back, why not Sarah? She could take Bela's place easily. Bela = stealing cursed objects. Sarah = selling cursed objects. Bela is just a bitchy copy of her.
I also hate that if Dean loved Cassie so much why don't they even mention her now? They could at least kill her and Dean could go and investigate her death. Anything but dropping it like that after hinting at how much he loved her...

Date: 2008-01-22 04:51 pm (UTC)I'm okay with them not mentioning Cassie again. Yes, Dean loved her, but she made it pretty clear that she did not love him as strongly as he did her. She clearly had feelings, but she wasn't willing to take all the baggage that came with him - namely, his job. :( I think Dean probably thinks he's doing her and himself a favor by just letting her go, because he's never going to have her again. Or something like that. Dean's brain is a strange place.
It was in the second issue of the magazine in the Kripke interview :D If I can remember off the top of my head, the episodes he disliked were Hookman, Bugs, Route 666, No Exit, and Red Sky At Morning. I think he disliked Hookman because that was his favorite urban legend and then when they did their take on it it came out totally lame, hahaha. I still enjoyed that episode, though.
