Please, explain to me what's so attractive about a person - be it a man or a woman - who basically calls someone else "dumb as a lamppost"? Because that's what Bela did to Dean. She keeps repeating and insinuating that Dean is a dumb, stupid, idiotic moron, she belittles the Winchesters and generally behaves like a grade A bitch and still, everyone thinks that she's classy and amazing. Please, explain it to me because obviously, I'm dumb as a lamppost too.

This episode left me totally cold like "No Exit" last season. I don't even feel like re-watching it. The episode was one big hymn of the amazing Bela. Sorry but this is not what I signed for when I started watching this series. My love for this show drops exponentially to the amount of time Bela spends on screen.

Meep. If this is an unpopular opinion, darling, then let us be unpopular. I've seen people say they like her cause she "calls Dean on his shit." Okay, fine. I suppose that's one way of seeing it. Dean can be a jackass, granted, and I think maybe this season we're supposed to be seeing Dean as a bit more of a jackass, 'cause he's fucking tired.. tired of caring and working so hard and it's his last year, can't Dean actually be a kid for a change? Can't he just... not have the burden of responsibility like.. 24/7 with this time? At least, if I were to empathize with Dean (which I do, to a fault) is the way _I_ see it.

But the thing is... what else is Bella calling Dean on? I mean, Dean _saves_ people. For a fucking living. His entire life he's spent trying to save his family. Keep his brother safe. Always had his father's back. Dean doesn't make lasting relationships, because he _can't_... because he's been dragged all over the god-damn country, because every one he's ever tried to make or kept has collapsed and left him alone. So... shit. What the hell is really to call him on? The fact that he's male and has a sex drive? Pfft. Come on. That's so weak. Because he _tries_ to do good? Okkkayyyy. Because ... yeah, I'm coming up empty here.

I don't _hate_ Bella as a character, but I'm having a hell of a time understanding her. Understanding her motivation, other than they're trying to make her the "hot bitch" of the series. I'm one to embrace my inner bitch, don't get me wrong, but... I just don't find anything attractive or interesting about that. And I was actually pretty disappointed with Sam's line at the end about her having style.

*cries and hugs you* I'm so happy that I'm not the only one. I mean, I like female characters, I love them! I love competent women but this... this is going too far. I get snark but being insulting? What's so attractive about that?

And people like it? Well, I would like to see them being called dumb for no reason at all! If he had made a mistake that got them into trouble then fine, I could understand it then but this... *shakes head*

I actually have switched sides on Bela. I didn't mind her so much in her last episode, and actually liked her more than Ruby at the time. Now... I wanted so badly for her to die by the end of the episode it wasn't even funny.

Gah. I wish I could say there was a single episode of the show this season that I loved completely and without reservations. It doesn't feel like the same show anymore, and I'm so depressed about that. I know you like Ruby, and I can see where she has a role in the plot this season... but I still would prefer not to have either character in the show, if only because it seems to have completely negated all the things I love about this show.

I would have preferred no girly girl there either, trust me. But if I should choose between Ruby and Bela? I would go with Ruby totally. I mean, she has a part in the overall plot. Bela... Bela is just there and every time she opens her mouth she insults people and especially Dean. Why? There was no reason for her caustic ways this time. Is this her way to prove that she's oh so great? Sorry, but she's so off-putting that it's not even funny.

I did like Bela in the rabbitfoot episode, to a degree. She was amusing. She wasn't the oh-so-brilliant female hunter we've been dreading and it was good to see someone who knew about the supernatural world and used it for their own gain. And so I did get her attitude towards Dean (but I did cheer when the boys told her they just couldn't care less). If she's insulting him, now that's just wrong. :/ I know I will not like that.

Yeah, her exact words - among others - were "Don't think so hard, you'll hurt yourself." or something along that lines. From that moment on, it went downhill for me.

Well, I didn't watch the episode yet, but I can't help but wonder if that wasn't for Sam's benefit. If you can call it that. The crossroads demon mentioned the "pathetic, needy Dean" line and I wonder if Bela emphasing it wasn't to enforce the issue on Sam. So that he can make his mind about it.

Nope, they were alone at that moment *sigh* Give me back Jo. Give me Ruby. Just deliver me of the evil that's Bela *sigh*

Everyone has an opinion *shrugs* You liked it and I'm happy for you.

I'm not sure why you deleted your other comment but I will reply to it here: If Bela meant it like a joke, good. If Dean snarked back, good. But she was obviously insulting him - and she was doing it the whole episode through - and he was just taking it which was making him look dumb. Snark on equal terms, great! This, a big no-no. I hate it that the writers dumb Dean down to make her look smarter.

But as I said, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
