I took a peek at the promo pics for Supernatural S3 that've been floating around for some time now. I don't think these pics are really spoilery because all they do is show you the character in a certain situation and that's it...

Oh my God! Katie Cassidy? So Buffy! The moment I saw her, I thought "Buffy!Clone!". And the way she holds the knife? Like a spatula, really. Please, tell me she'll be more believable in the real thing? *groans* I'm truly starting to believe that they hired Cassidy only because she's the network's actress and they needed to stick her in somewhere after 7th Heaven ended.

Second, why are the most promo pics of Katie Cassidy? I thought this show was about the Winchester brothers!

Oh, and a pet-peeve of mine - female characters going all kick-ass with their hair down and fluffy. I have long hair and I would never do anything like that without my hair in a braid or a bun or something. She is not a secretary for pete's sake! She's a fighter! *rolls eyes*

But Sarah Michelle Gellar was at least believable. Sure, she is a big-breasted shortie but when she held a stake, she didn't look like a crazy cook XP

I'm trying to keep my mind open but... The fact that Jensen Ackles himself said that even though they still do work hard it's not that bad anymore now that they have the two new girls there, indicates that there will be less SamandDean time. I'm afraid that it'll turn into Sam and Ruby doing this and Dean and Bela doing that because Jared himself said that regarding these two girls, he mostly does his scenes with Katie and Jensen with Lauren... Maybe my attitude towards the girls would be a bit better if I actually liked the actresses...

I really don't have much faith in her either. Her image, her previous works, and her being unable to believably pose holding a knife for a picture (what's gonna happen when she has to use it? she looks like she barely can hold it using both arms!!)

If she's not a love interest, why didn't they go for an older actress? I so wanted to see someone like Reiko Aylesworth, Mia Kirshner, Katee Sackhoff... *sigh*

But I do have faith that if she doesn't work, she'll go the way Jo did.

I would have prefered someone a bit older too. Or at least someone who would have the constitution of a fighter. I would have loved for example Grace Park from Galactica in that role. She is beautiful and young but I actually believe that she could kick ass!

Exactly! Sam and Dean are built like woah!, and they still get choked and thrown into walls.

This girl is supossed to hunt alone. Shouldn't she be a little more... more? Someone you could believe as a fighter. Like Grace Park, for example. (she doesn't have to be old, many, and butch, but she needs to have some muscle and some moves. Certain presence.)

That's like so true. I mean, Cassidy looks like you poke her and she breaks *sigh* I can see her taking down for example Sam if Sam had no fighting experience at all and she was a black belt martial artist. But when their abilities are equal, sheer size and bulk will win X(
