This is really lovely... of course we're all glad that Sam went with Dean and made our beautiful show, but I can really see this happening if Sam hadn't come with Dean. Of course I am left with many questions-- how Dean's reconciliation with John might go, for one, and what role if any the YED might still play in their lives. More than anything though, I would love to see some of the backstory-- Dean's descent into PTSD, the role Pastor Jim played in helping him (did the Pastor keep Dean's presence a secret from Sam when Sam ended up calling?), etc.
It's such an awesome idea, and I like the way you've portrayed Dean as having found some real peace in his life and person.
