Okay, obviously, I have a weird talent to stumble across idiots. A couple of hours ago, a certain girl started a discussion on Amazon - with this entry (it's a public forum that's why I'm re-posting it here, but I won't reveal her name):

I really dislike finding myself reading a gay/lesbian review in the top 100 sellers of what I consider to be "mainstream"romance novels. I have nothing against gay/lesbian people, but I do not want to read about their romances. I know there is a Gay/Lesbian section that Amazon sponsors, so why is their literature mixed in with "straight" literature? Does it distress Gay/lesbians to read straight reviews? How do you feel about this? I have complained, but nothing was done to separate the genres.

I mean... huh? And my response?

I don't mind at all. And I find it silly when people say, "I don't mind gay/lesbian/whatever people BUT..." Either I do mind or I don't mind.

I read het books, I read gay books, I read fantasy and manga and detective stories and humor. To me, it doesn't matter. I like to have recommended GOOD books, be they gay or "mainstream". I would prefer if Amazon had its categories sorted out better but that's it. It would help me find the book I'm in the mood to read at the moment.

I feel like I'm turning into a pro-gay activist *sigh*

Hilarious! According to Amazon, "Blood Brothers" by Michael Schiefelbein is sold out and 25 % of customers who went looking for this book bought "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" in the end. Right. Gay monks are so like Harry Potter :D I mean I know that they rec according to statistics but this amused me to no end!

Thank you so much. Such people make me so angry. But at the same time, I feel sorry for them. They miss so much in their small, walled-in world *shakes head*

Thank you! *beams* It really bothers me, when people talk about gays as "them" like they were lepers or something X(
