Of Amazon and other things

Did you know that, according to statistics, one out of every ten patients suffers physical harm at the hands of doctors and nurses in a hospital? I just heard it in the news. Can you even imagine it? Medical personal injures 10 patients out of 100!!! And the speaker's response to that? "Doctors are people too." O.O Can you imagine for example cops shooting 10 arrestees out of 100 because they made a mistake or had a bad day?

Yay! I browsed Amazon and found out that Josh Lanyon's "Fatal Shadows" was re-printed and and is available again! And Ayano Yamane's "Finder Series 1" is also available and her "Crimson Spell 1" is out too! Huzzah! That I had to order like immediately! Actually, I wanted to order the "La Esperanca" series, "xxxHolic" or "Innocent Bird" but I feared that Yamano Ayame's manga would be sold out quickly - like it was in the past :(

Everybody makes mistakes, though, even doctors and police. There have been stories of cops killing someone because they had a water gun and it looked too much like a real gun. It's an accident. And they're factoring in the number of crappy doctors that mess up almost every time and really, should be stripped of their licences, with the number of doctor's that have made maybe one or two mistakes in their entire career. Statistics aren't very reliable anyway, because they can be manipulated in any way.

Well, they presented it on the case of a head physician who shut off patient's life support by mistake and killed her! O.O They said that it's pretty much common that they take a patient into the OR for a surgery that the neighbor in his room should undergo, that the patients' pills get switched etc.

I understand that people make mistakes but they should not talk so casually about it when they physically HURT people and their only excuse is "Oops, my bad"?! This is something I don't understand.

I am always furious when I read such articles they are always out of context and butchered to the root. It is simple tabloid thing. Yes mistakes happened but they give them sensation. I think those who put a dirt on such profession should reconsider that they will need sometimes those they blackened and yes they can be refused.
However I was stabbed trough my hand in my job several times, hot tea was oured over my back, strangled several times, punched and called names.
