Of poll results and other weird things

katikatSo, according to the poll that I posted a couple of days ago, 58 % of my friends think that it would be Sam who would initiate an intimate relationship between he and Dean, but only 30 % of you think that Sam would be the top in their ship. That's really interesting.
I agree with you that it would be Sam who would initiate it. Dean puts Sam too much on a pedestal to do anything that could change let alone risk what they have now. I bet he would die of blue balls before he did anything about it. I can see him mentioning the possibility of them having sex as a joke to provoke Sam but not as a serious offering - special circumstances (aka life!saving sex) excluded of course.
Though I have to disagree with you about who would be the top. I think that it would be Sam too. As I said, for Dean, Sam is his little "treasure". I bet that if he was the top, he would stop every five seconds asking "Is it okay? Am I hurting you?" until Sam, all frustrated, would flip them over and fuck Dean through the mattress.
I'm not saying that under the influence of the height!rule that's so common in yaoi (actually, I adore when ukes are older and taller :D), it's the way that I see their personalities. Dean is too much of a protector, he doesn't demand or even ask. When he's desperate enough, he pleads and only with Sammy too (see Hunted).
That's why, when I considers the boys wolves or werewolves, I see Sam and John as Alphas pure, while Dean is clearly Beta. Sam demands, Dean protects. But Sam is also the only one that Dean is willing to submit to which would clearly mark him as a Beta wolf in a pack. I would so love to write a story where Were!Sam and Were!Dean would build a real pack with Sam on the top of the food chain and Dean as his right hand *examines plot bunnies*
