For once, I won't talk about Supernatural because I have never stumbled across another fandom that would have as many great talents as SPN.

I'll talk about the other two favorite series of mine - Psych and Charmed. In these two fandoms, trying to find a well-written fic is like digging for water on the Sahara! When you read the summaries, you think, wow, what a great idea. But the writing itself...

I think that many of the authors in these fandoms would benefit from a very good beta. Most of the Charmed fics are obviously written by teenies who may have some potential but they can't spell even the simplest words correctly. In the Psych fandom, the problem is similar but different at the same time. Interesting plots but no style whatsoever. Jumping from one POV to another, no exposition, no description, rushing too much to get to the point - I recognize these signs because I used to do the same thing and I now cringe just remembering it. If the author doesn't have the patience to develop a story, they should write drabbles - in drabbles, there is no time to describe anything.

So far, the best Psych fic I could find is "An Act of Kindness" by JessicaRae, a missing scene from the episode Spelling Bee that I already rec'ed here once. I can't recommend it enough though. The interaction between Shawn and the OC is very well done! Too bad that there aren't other stories like this one.

In the Charmed fandom, I still haven't found even one story worth rec'ing and that's sad. But I've been perusing the C2 communities on ff.net these days where they at least separate the really bad stories from the bad ones.

And my own writing? Nothing glorious. In the last two weeks, I have finished only one Charmed fic called "Alone, In the Woods" and today, a Supernatural drabble that doesn't have a name yet :P And my Priest!Dean fic is still not finished! *facepalm*

Really good Charmed fics:
Snow Gardens, by Nice Hobbitses - The future is changed, but how? This is a novel, really. And extremely well written. http://www.fanfiction.net/s/1942198/1/

Any fic by my beloved Teal Lover. Seriously. http://www.fanfiction.net/u/619895/

And finaly, Neurotic by sodoto ( also known as [livejournal.com profile] mizzy2k - AU for season 6. This is another novel, seriously. http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2233054/1/

I hope you enjoy those!

And I'm embarrassed that I didn't send your fic back yet. Sorry.

Yikes! So my search for "Charmed" fic is going to be considerably harder?

Thank you so much! *beams*

And don't worry about my fic. My regular beta is back from her vacation so I sent the fic to her :)

Unfortunately, the only source of Chris-centric fics is ff.net. There are no other archives. And ff.net is not exactly famous for its high-standard writing :(

Let me know what you think of them, okay?

I have a long fic, too, but I think it needs some fixing, and lots of one-shots, that despite the need of a beta, I like a lot. If you want to take a look at them, I'm here: http://www.fanfiction.net/~stonyangel
