As my friends know, I'm all for slash/yaoi or gen (or in the case of Supernatural even incest - come on, the guys are hot!) but I don't really mind het. I mean, I've read some very good Dean/Ellen fics and even some threesomes like Dean/Sam/Sarah or Dean/Sam/Jessica. I may not go bonkers about the het genre, but I don't bash it either.

My point? Why does it always have to be - in every fandom - het against slash? Whatever floats the people's boat, for pete's sake! Live and let live. There is no need to call someone sick just because they like two hot consenting men doing the dirty X(

Unfortunately, people are quite close-minded. I've been called sick for reading shounen ai (v.01 of FAKE) by one of my... "friends"... because to him, shounen ai is the same as yaoi. THEY'RE NOT HAVING SEX ARE THEY??? He likes yuri because he likes the dynamics and relationships between two girls so how in the world is that different from two guys? *doesn't understaaaaand*

You know, I make it pretty obvious what books and manga I read, that I'm interested in homosexual content. Even my boss knows that I read the "4% books" as he calls them - he publishes Lynn Flewelling after all. I tell my friends and my family - the one that I'm really in touch with - knows too. If they don't like it, they can go and stuff themselves, really. I hate intolerance, especially in fandoms!

I don't outright tell people, but if it comes up, I won't deny it. Sometimes for essays, I do prompts on homosexuality.

Fandoms are full of touchy people sometimes. x_x
