Dorian Blues isn't a ha-ha-hilarious comedy. It's just one cute coming-of-age story told from the POV of Dorian Lagatos. It's not about finding a partner but about finding yourself and learning how to like yourself.

Dorian is a really cliché kind of a gay - he loves fashion and is really bad at sports. He is really confused about who he is and what's his sexual orientation. He visits psychologists and priests etc. trying to figure himself out. And when he finally accepts that he is gay, he feels the need to tell someone. But who? His father is a hard-ass Bush-man, his mother a fruit cake. And so he tells the only person that's really close to him - his younger brother Nick. Nick is everything that Dorian isn't: He is a quarterback, a good student, their father's favorite son. And here it's where the story gets interesting and rather touching. Nick sticks with Dorian. He defends him against the ruffians at school, he even stands up against their father when Dorian finally decides to tell him the truth. And even though the brothers are so different, nothing can break their bond.

The ending is rather anti-climatic but it's not an action movie so it doesn't matter so much. I love how the relationship between the brothers is portrayed. They are bros and best friends and even though Nick is this butch who has everything, he still loves his gay brother very much and isn't afraid to stand by his side when it matters. And I think this is the most awesome thing about this movie!

So, if you want to see a good gay movie that's not about love but it still is about love just this brotherly sort, go and watch. It's really well done!
