Asagiri no Miko aka Shrine of the Morning Mist is a good anime, funny and cute but it's not really remarkable. It's just your average series about a group of miko/priestess who fight against monsters and protect a boy whom one of them loves.

The main heroine is the miko-trainee Yuzu. Since her childhood she has had a crush on her best friend Hiro. Hiro is a strange boy - his eyes are of a different color and he is always targeted by monsters even though nobody actually knows why. To protect him, Yuzu enlists four girls from her school. They establish the miko council and protect Hiro and the school from all evil.

As you can see, the plot is not really original. But it kept me interested enough to watch the whole series. Even though there are demons, this anime is mostly fun with just a touch of angst. It's quite funny to watch how the miko-trainees deal with their harsh training and how they turn into their school's heroes.

But the most interesting characters were Koma, the cat spirit (or something like that), and Tadaaki, Hiro's grandfather. These two fell in love but since Koma is immortal, she saw Tadaaki grow old and then get killed by the same demon who is now targeting Hiro. I think that was the most touching part of the story. Oh, and one mustn't forget the Twilight Miko, the two female demons who weren't bad at all in the end, they just wanted to be accepted. The scene where they gave up their lives to save the only man that knew what they were and liked them anyway was another highlight of this show.

This anime was rather easy to watch because even though it has 26 episodes, each part is only 12 minutes long so you can consider it a snack between main dishes :)

As I said, it was a good anime but not one that you will remember five years from now. Three stars out of five :)

Oh, I actually watched the first few episodes of this anime... but like you write it's nothing you remember after some time. Maybe I will get back to it when I have time, though.
Did you start watching some of the new series? I can't wait for the next month, so many interesting releases.

I watched Asagiri no Miko because the eps weren't long. It was good for moments like taking a break from work or something, when all you have are ten minutes :)

I've started downloading Chevalier and Black Blood Brothers but didn't find the time to watch them yet. I've heard that Chevalier is pretty good though :) But I'm still downloading like 10 other, older anime :)

Black Blood Brothers looks promising, I even got my brother to watch it. It should definitely fit your faible for brother relationships. Plus its funny.

As for Chevalier... I downloaded it but didn't watch it because I had issues with the raw I watched. Hm, but I'll get ayu's subs and look at it again.

I also recommend Innocent Venus to you. At least I can't get enough of it and it drives me to post huge image heavy entries... No, the story get intriguing after a few eps. But its really difficult to keep up if you follow a lot of anime at the same time. I demand more time for anime...

Yup, I'm watching Innocent Venus! Jo and Jin MUST be lovers! Jo's willingness to go anywhere with Jin without even asking... what a devotion! *sparkles*

*laughs* we should really chat in realtime!
Yep, I'm also a fan of Jo and Jin. Jo is so mysterious and completely devoted to Jin. Hm, the attraction is there somewhere. I like Toraji, though. Completely reckless. Only Sana keeps getting on my nerves.

At the moment I only have MSN, but I will use whatever you want. My brother and a friend keep pestering me about reinstalling icq, so only one more reason to do it. I put my MSN data in my profile, so feel free to drop me a line.
