Star Trek Back on TV!

katikatApparently, there's going to be a new Star Trek show in 2017. CBS announced that Alex Kurtzman, he of the ST movie reboot fame and of shows like Hawaii 5-0, will be producing it and it will feature completely new characters.
Awesome. There's not enough space based shows out there. Though I fear that the old format, episodes with a lot of navel gazing and ruminating on the human spirit and whatnot, won't fly anymore. So, I wonder how they will make it "old" enough to appease the existing fans and "new" enough to pull in people who never cared about ST before... It'll definitely have to be more action driven than the old shows.
