NCIS 1105-1124
Sep. 5th, 2014 11:58 pmI liked S11 much better than S10. And I didn't miss Ziva at all. Which is weird because I shipped Tiva. But looking back now, I feel that Ziva's endless issues and baggage were really dragging the show down. Ellie Bishop is like a breath of fresh air! Yes, I like her. A lot. Though I do wish they had used the SecNav and Ellie to bring in a bit more diversity. I'm no social crusader but even I notice that the cast is WAY too white. Must be Teen Wolf's influence.
What I liked:
* Tony and his men's support group. I wish they hadn't dropped that plotline halfway through. I really liked what the Rev was doing for Tony and how he changed Tony.
* Tony's dad finally, FINALLY matured somewhat.
* Tim and Delilah. I used to like Tim/Abby but I'm glad that the "will they, won't they" was finally dropped. Though I wish there was more affection showed between Tim and Delilah. There was no... passion, it was all rather clinical.
* Palmer and Brina and the baby, that was a lot of fun.
* Ellie in general. I really like her.
* Gibbs, Fornell and the Ex. OMG, that ep was hilarious!
What I didn't like:
* I skipped all the Vance background. Not interested.
* I skipped all the scenes with Gibbs and his dad, them looking for Gibbs Sr.'s vet friend. Not interested. Though I did get all sniffly at the end of the finale, that was sad.
* Abby. I wish she would grow up just a LITTLE. I don't consider her wackiness all that endearing anymore.
I'm now all caught up and ready to roll with the new season. Huzzah!
One thing, though: After having seen the NCIS: New Orleans planted pilot, I decided to drop it from my to-view list. I was bored by it. I do love Scott Bakula and CCH Pounder but the characters were boring, the story was boring, the setting was boring and the dialog ridiculous. And I didn't understand half of what they were saying, especially La Salle. NCIS: Los Angeles' planted pilot got me interested right away! It got my blood pumping and the cliffhanger was simply stellar. I can't believe I'm saying this but even the NCIS: RED pilot was more interesting that the NCIS:NO one. Eh. Unless something major changed between the pilot and the show itself, I'm not going back for more. I will be watching 20 other shows, I don't need to follow one I'm only slightly interested in.
