"The Death Cure (The Maze Runner #3)" by James Dashner

3.5 stars. This book felt much more action driven than the previous two. The last 10 chapters or so were one hell of a ride. The whole book also had a very "zombie apocalypse" feel to it. Also, compared to the previous books, this one felt broader, larger, not as intimate and self-contained as far as the setting goes.

Thomas and Minho and their friendship was the best part for me. Their relationship deepened throughout the story and I was glad that they both survive. I didn't cry for Newt or Teresa. Newt admitted he hated the life they were living and already tried to commit suicide once, he wanted to die. And Teresa... I liked Teresa, she seemed very mature and her devotion to Thomas was amazing. Yet I was glad that the author didn't gloss over what she did to Thomas: yes, she did it to save his life, that didn't change the fact that she tortured and almost killed him and I was glad that her actions had consequences and that Thomas didn't forgive her. Yes, he understood but he couldn't forget. And I liked Brenda too. I didn't mind that she ended up with Thomas.

Overall, I liked the trilogy and I'm interested in reading the prequel, The Kill Order, too. I can't wait to see the movie now.
