Common Law 101-112
Jun. 28th, 2014 11:55 pmThis was a nice series. Nothing groundbreaking or really hit-ish but some nice, funny, relaxing stuff. Though I do get why it didn't really take off. Nice and funny just doesn't cut it anymore. I liked the characters but the show lacked the necessary "Oomph," as Hetty Lange would say.
What I'm grateful for is that we got a resolution, that we got to find out why Wes pulled his gun on Travis, why they were sent to couples therapy in the first place. So, basically, you can view it as a mini-series of a sort.
One thing bothered me a bit, though - we've been told many times that Travis has always had Wes' back. But it wasn't shown. At no point during the series did Travis have to stick his neck out for Wes. But Wes has done that several times. Like when he shot Travis' brother or when shut up that Beverly Hills cop who talked shit about Travis. I think that's too bad. I mean, you could argue that Travis saved Wes from the landmine Wes had stepped on but Travis would've done that for anybody. I would've really loved to see Travis go to bat for Wes specifically. Oh well, we might have gotten that in S2. Too bad...
