I downloaded episode 509. I promised myself not to do it. I've got seasons 1-3 on DVD. I have S4 on its way to me right now. But S5? With S5 I have to wait till the price drops, it must be lower than €22 set by the EU as a customs and VAT limit - incl. shipping. So yeah... And I REALLY NEEDED to see that episode. I had this itchy, twitchy feeling and I knew it wouldn't go away until I saw the episode. And I was right. Because...

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! BEST LEVERAGE EPISODE EVER!

This pic is from the episode, called The Rundown Job. It's an ep that focuses solely on Eliot, Hardison and Parker, Nate and Sophie aren't even in it. And it's bloody fantastic! First they steal diamonds and then they catch a terrorist. And the way they work together as a team? PERFECTION PURE! I imagine that's what the show would've looked like with the Terrible Threesome as a team, without Nate and Sophie.

Gosh, they were amazing. The way they clicked in every situation, it was pushing all my buttons. Stealing the diamonds? Hardison unlocked the vault, Eliot neutralized the guards, Parker got over the lasers. Disarming a bomb? Team work. Tracking down the terrorist? Team work! Stopping him? TEAM WORK! Poetry in motion, folks!

Some great quotes:

Eliot: I'll find a way to keep her alive, you guys find a way to get her out of here.
Hardison: With what?
Eliot: You stole a Michelangelo with tin foil and chewing gum, figure it out!

Hardison: And you expect us to go kissing psycho with a city killer? A country killer?
Eliot: You scared?
Hardison: You damn right.
Eliot: I'm not. I got the best thief and the smartest guy I know chasing this guy.

Parker: We agreed we’d all change. For better or worse. We’d change together.

Bad guy: Why did you quit anyway?
Eliot: Started running with some different people. Like a hacker. And a thief.

Just... I'm smitten, folks. SMITTEN. Their closeness, it was almost palpable *_*

"Border Vol. 4" by Kazuma Kodaka

Ratings: ♣ ♣ ♣ ♣

Kazuma Kodaka never disappoints. I just love how three-dimensional all her characters are and how deep and broad her stories seem because of that. Everything she writes feels so... alive. And it's not just because of the character arcs, it's all in the details, in the way her characters tease each other, how close they are...

This one tells us more about Yamato and Sohgo's friendship - and about the secret Yamato has kept from Sohgo all these years...

You know, I completely forgot just how much fun the Callen & Sam friendship used to be. These two, their banter, their touching closeness used to be the highlight of every episode. What happened in later seasons? I can't remember one ep during S4.5 that would've showcased this. Suddenly, the show was all about Sam's wife and the Kensi/Deeks shipping. I never realized just how much I missed it until I re-watched the backdoor pilot and the first 2 eps of the series. It feels like a different show...

I'm so glad they got rid of Macy. And then later on of Nate. Macy was... well, I really didn't like her backstory with Gibbs. I very much prefer Hetty Lang as the team leader! Finally a woman of the appropriate age in the role. And Nate, as sweet as he is, was really a dead weight. As a recurring character, he's awesome. As a regular? Why would a special ops unit need a psychologist on their investigative staff? Also, I understand why they got rid of Dom. Such a wet-behind-the-ears boy had no place in a unit like this. I mean, Deeks isn't an agent either, but he's a skilled investigator and an experienced detective.

My favorite quote? Hetty's, "For the love of Gucci!"
