Arthur runs wild and free in his dreams.

He's never been one to indulge in escapism. He was born – in this life, at least – with feet firmly planted on the ground, trained to value stability, pragmatism, reliability.

Dreams, natural or PASIV-induced, are not built to be reliable. Becoming enraptured with dream-share was Arthur's first step off the straight and narrow.

Delving back through time is his second.

Wonderful story. But also veritas-nescio's last. After this, the author went off the net. It's too bad because her/his stories pushed all my buttons...

The Hobbit!

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey crossed $700 mil. worldwide! Please, please, let it cross $1 bil. before it runs its course, just so the haters finally shut up!

Also, I loved what Deadline wrote about Bilbo, how Peter Jackson's take on the character differed from Guillermo Del Toro's:

“It shifted and changed into someone who, rather than being slightly younger and more innocent in the world, once had a sense of longing for adventure and has lost it and become fussy and fusty,” she says.

That led Jackson to Freeman. “We needed a dramatic actor because it is ultimately a dramatic role, but Bilbo Baggins is a much funnier character than Frodo was,” says Jackson. “There’s very few dramatic actors who can do comedy very well, but Martin seemed to possess the perfect qualities.”

I'm really glad that they didn't go the "young and innocent" route, that would've been way too similar to Frodo. I love this Bilbo, kind and courageous but also "fussy and fusty", as they say :)

Also, this bit was interesting, Andy Serkis talking about how they had filmed the Riddles in the Dark scene:

“We played that scene out in its entirety every time we shot it, and it’s a 13-minute scene,” says Serkis. “It’s like a theater piece really, and we just explored it and mined it for everything that it was worth, and Peter shot it from lots of different angles.”

Wow, every time in its entirety? That's admirable.

Haven 310-313

The last 2 episodes of S3 were leaked online and because I'm neither a US nor a UK citizen thus my watching it later would in no way help the show, I downloaded them. Yes, the quality was bad and I'll probably download the TV rips once they are out but I needed to know how S3 ended.

And wow, I definitely didn't expect that. Honestly, Haven is the only show on TV right now that never stops surprising me. So many unexpected twists and turns. Also, after watching the last 2 episodes, I now understand why so many people think that Haven's main couple is actually a threesome. Sheesh on a pogo stick, I hope fanfic writers pick it up and run with it because there were so many wonderful Nathan/Audrey/Duke, Nathan/Duke, Audrey/Nathan, Audrey/Duke scenes... It made me very happy. And so many questions were answered!
