"The whole thing, not just his backstory, but his agenda, his plan, his secret, all that is what, for me at least, makes him such a frightening and cool villain", said the director. "Also, the real villains - when they're not just two-dimensional, angry vengeful types - don't see themselves as the bad guy. They are the good guy and have complete rationale and motivation. So true to form, the character that Benedict plays has an absolute sense of right and wrong, and he's on the right side".

Of the actor himself? "I would say that the character that Benedict plays, he brings such an incredible power to it. His voice alone, I actually as a joke should have had him read the lunch menu".

Lovely! I just adore that everybody and their uncle are praising Benedict's voice work. The full length trailer should be out this Thursday, right? I can't wait. Is it May already? \o/

Gangster Squad looks really good! And with this cast...

... who could resist it, right? Oh my gosh, Ryan Gosling is so, so good looking. I remember him as Young Hercules - with The Hobbit's Fili playing Iolaus! - and already there he was incredibly gorgeous. But back then, he was a boy. Now, he's a man. And in this movie... Hot damn!

(And yup, still hoping that he and Michael Fassbender will play lovers in Terrence Malick's latest movie!)

15 years ago, I would've eaten this movie with a spoon. But now, it mostly amused me just how much it resembled Smallville - and then I found out that the script was written by Miles Millar & Alfred Gough, the execs of Smallville. LOL! And it really was SV rehashed - a bratty teenage alien with superpowers: check; a geek BFF: check; a Lana Lang like Mary Sue: check; a "you need to hide" protector: check; hip songs: check! LOL. Like LOLOLOL! XD I mean, I'm not saying that the book on which the movie was based isn't good but this was so derivative! A literal carbon copy of SV, even written by the same writers/execs!

What I did like was the last fight and the special effects, those were incredible. And Number Six! Gosh, that girl kicked ass like nobody's business. In the last fight, when Four blew up the bad guy and she covered him with the shield! That was so awesome. Six was definitely the highlight of the movie for me. And for very selfish reasons - because I LOVE a protective!girl - I would love her and Sam to become a couple. That would be awesome!

I guess I will have to get my hands on the book series to find out how it goes on.
