It's official! The Hobbit will be a trilogy! Source. And I for one could not be happier about it. I love the LotR movies and when it comes to Tolkien, I trust Jackson implicitly. If he thinks this is the best way to go, then it's the best way to go!

And if I see one more person piss and moan about it, I will kick their sorry little ass. Have these people who complain about one book being turned into a trilogy even read "The Hobbit"? Gandalf disappears half-way through, we never see the White Council, we never see the battle against the Necromancer and the Battle of Five armies is only 15 pages or so long, for Christ's sake! Tolkien wasn't exactly known for going into detail. And if you add the 125 pages of LotR appendices that should bridge the gap between The Hobbit and Fellowship of the Ring, people still don't think there's material enough for 3 movies? And what's that nonsense about it being just about money? The DIRECTOR asked for another movie for creative reasons, it wasn't the studio's demand. Of course the studio will be happy to earn more money but this time it was the creator who asked for this. Hail and thunder on these small-minded, angry, judgmental people!

Michael Fassbender is filming The Councelor right now, another movie with Ridley Scott (they must have clicked like whoa during Prometheus if they are making another movie together already!). The film might not be my cuppa but I loved what Brad Pitt said:

I’m only doing a few days on that. [“Killing Them Softly” director] Andrew [Dominik] and I are both Cormac McCarthy fans – I mean, I’ve read every word the guy’s published and most of them more than once. So this was a chance to do something of his and also to work with Ridley [Scott] again. Ridley gave me my first break into the big leagues. And I’m a [Michael] Fassbender fanatic too. Source.

LOL! This is the 2nd movie that Brad Pitt is doing together with Michael Fassbender, the first one was Inglorious Basterds in which Pitt was the star, and he's also producing Fassbender's Twelve Years as Slave. Another guy Michael clicked with? :)

In 10 days, TDKR more than doubled its budget of $250 mil., earning $536 mil. worldwide: source.

I really hope it reaches $1 bil. worldwide before it's done, the way TDK did. TDKR is my favorite movie in the trilogy and even though it doesn't have the - very dubious - appeal of Heath Ledger's last finished part and it was hit by the Aurora shooting, I really hope it achieves at least partially TDK's success.

Another gorgeous song from the OST is Mind If I Cut In, which is Catwoman's introduction: link. Beautiful!
