Snow White & the Huntsman

Went to see Snow White & the Huntsman today...



And I really liked it. Not as much as The Avengers, but it was quite a good fairy tale. The visuals were amazing and the battles/fights too! But what had the biggest impact on me? The characters of Snow and Huntsman. Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth were incredibly sweet together. It wasn't your usual in-your-face UST, the characters were both quite damaged and grief stricken but that was why they understood each other so well.

So, if you somehow missed my point: I SHIP SNOW AND HUNTSMAN LIKE WHOA! I really hope that fanfic writers pick this up and run with it. And that they don't turn Snow into a weepy girl, she kicked ass and fought for herself and her kingdom and she did NOT need a man to hold her hand while doing so! If fanfic writers turn her into a damsel in distress, we will have words!

According to Deadline.com, SWATH might draw $55mil. at the US box office this weekend. I hope it does. I really liked it. Though I admit that without Stewart and Hemsworth, I might not have, at least not as much. They owned the movie.

Tom Hiddleston & Chris Hemsworth

The close friendship between these two simply warms my heart. They clicked so amazingly well and when you listen to them talking about each other and/or their characters, it's simply beautiful...

Question: Who's your favorite Avenger?
Tom: My favorite Avenger is Thor. Unquestionably. He's my brother. Even though I hate him.
Chris: He's not really an Avenger. Can I say Loki? He's not an Avenger but he should be.

Tom about Chris: I started this whole journey with him, and we were both about the same age, and, uhm, he’s become one of my best friends. Yeah, it’s fantastic. And the thing playing that relationship is... They're brothers and it's complicated and they love each other but they compete with each other and... We have to go to some quite complicated emotional places together and you can only do that with an actor you trust. You can't... If you don't like an actor you're working with, it's really hard to be vulnerable. And the reason I can be vulnerable with Chris is because I like him so much.

Tom about Chris: I’m so blessed to have such a great relationship with Chris, as an actor. I can remember our first scene together in Avengers, Joss was like: ‘You… really make each other better. That’s a really amazing thing to watch.’ We just bring some extra baggage that’s good, you know, because we’ve played brothers for so long, you know. And it’s not an intellectual thing, it’s just like a... It’s like when you play tennis with someone and you’re just evenly matched, you know? Yeah.

And then there are things that make you simply giggle... Like this, just look at the way they sit, their feet! Or this, the GIFs are precious!

Also, I never realized just how tall Tom Hiddleston was until I saw him standing next to Chris Hemsworth. Sheesh!

So, yeah. They are so fabulous! And no, not in a RPS way, thank you very much. I've never been much into RPS and lately not at all. But their friendship, the way they like each other and how obvious it is from the way they talk and behave... Man, I wish there were more actors like that out there and fewer divas!

Praising Benedict Cumberbatch

So, Damon Lindelof, the writer of Star Trek had this to say about Benedict's performance in the movie: link.

"Benedict Cumberbatch, I can already say with a certain degree of confidence that he is gonna give an iconic film performance and one of the best sci-fi performances that I've ever seen," Lindelof told Collider.

"And not even having seen the movie yet, just sitting there in video village with the headphones on," he continued. "So I'm really psyched."

Awesome! I really can't wait to see ST2 or STXII or whatever number you want to give it. Everybody seems so smitten with Benedict's brilliant work on the movie...

But Benedict Cumberbatch aside, I hope we get some nice Kirk and Bones scenes. I know that everyone and their uncle is all about Kirk and Spock but I hope they'll keep it Kirk&Bones and Spock&Uhura with Kirk&Spock linking the team together *crosses fingers*
