Rory was absolutely amazing in this episode. I loved how supportive he was of his mother and of his ex-girlfriend, how he sent the girls to his mother's talk because he felt she needed all the female support she could get, how exasperated he was by his father and his brother's antics, especially the "lesbian thing". When his mother told Laura that she tried to teach all her boys how to respect and understand women but only one of them actually listened, that was so sweet. And I just adore it when Benedict Cumberbatch says "Mum"!

I mean, seriously, Rory rocks!

And I love how he tends to touch people to show them his affection. It's wonderful...

But the menfolk in general was really hilarious in this episode:

Talking about lesbians in their pajamas...

Having breakfast!

And I LOL'd at this:

Paul: You boys have got to stop thinking about sex. There are more things in life, you know? Can't think what they are for the moment, but there must be.

This pretty much sums this show up, don't you think? There ARE other things than sex in the life of the Slippery family, certainly - but they are not as important! XD

Simon Kinberg talked about his plans for the XMFC sequel: link.

Screenwriter Simon Kinberg is working with Matthew Vaughn over the next few months on the much anticipated sequel to last year's "X-Men: First Class" and reveals to MTV News that Michael Fassbender's Magneto and his relationship with James McAvoy's Charles X. Xavier will take on more prominence in the follow-up.

"That’s what was so cool about the first one and what we want to continue. Magneto becomes the villain ultimately of the franchise but he’s a much more complicated character as a young man. He’s someone you sympathize with, you care about you root for even though might not necessarily agree with his methods, you understand his philosophy" says Kinberg.

In terms of turning Magneto into more of an outright villain, Kinberg says "We’re still figuring that out. I think the truth is ultimately that because Michael [Fassbender] is such an interesting actor, he’ll never be full-on anything. He’ll have a villainous side and he’ll have a sympathetic human side you’ll be able to relate but you’ll also be afraid of him. He becomes Magneto, he says ‘Call me Magneto’ at the end of the first movie."

Another article added:

"I'm a huge X-Men fan. I grew up loving the comic books and it was really exciting to be able to do the origin story of Xavier and Magneto, and getting those two actors, James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender, were really amazing. So being able to explore those characters with actors of that quality will be exciting a second time around, and doing some things unexpected with those characters, which is the plan. link

Yet for some reason, 9 reporters out 10 immediately assumed that the next movie would be all Magneto centric. Where DID Kinberg say that? He talked about Erik and Charles, then he talked about Michael Fassbender and Magneto but nowhere did he say that the movie would be solely about Magneto. And yet, everybody immediately went up in arms about how every other character would be neglected. Boggles the mind, seriously.

In the meantime, I'm basking in the beauty of the part I underlined, "Michael Fassbender's Magneto and his relationship with James McAvoy's Charles X. Xavier will take on more prominence in the follow-up." Yes, it should've been Charles F. Xavier, but whatever. More focus on Charles and Erik, I'm ALL for it. It was the best thing about XMFC, the friendship between them, and James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender's chemistry is... off the charts!

Michael Fassbender will be on Top Gear this Sunday!

Awesome, awesome, awesome! I really adore the guy!

And since I'm already talking about him, in one of his upcoming projects, he will play the Celtic hero Cú Chulainn or Cuchulain: link.

Fassbender will star as Cuchulain, the central hero of the Ulster Myth Cycle in the film (one of the four branches of Irish mythology), which has a working title Irish Myths.

Interesting! He really loves to keep a broad spectrum of characters to play, doesn't he?

Another wonderful episode. The part where Paul thought that Estelle was sleeping with all his friends and then he went and got totally drunk was hilarious. The poor, paranoid thing!

When Paul gets drunk he does things like...

... This that make his sons feel very embarrassed and uncomfortable *snickers* Especially when he does it in public :P

But the best part was the storyline about Rory and Daniel. First the girls broke up with them - Daniel didn't care much but Rory looked so incredibly heartbroken, like his world ended. And then the shelter invited Daniel to go through their finances and cut some costs. Rory was so convinced that Daniel would get him fired - and Daniel's expression when Rory made it obvious that he didn't trust him! And then Daniel kicked out their manager! Loved this part:

When Daniel pointed at Rory and said, "My hard-working brother!" Rory's expression!

Bonding time!

It's funny that both Paul and Estelle gravitate towards Rory when they need to talk. I guess they know that their other two sons would make fun of them but Rory would listen and try to help.

And, you know, my fingers fairly itch to write an angst fic for this episode. I mean, Paul did think for a while there that his wife was a pervert, sleeping with his friends and all. He even got miffed when he thought the guys dragged Edwin in. But he totally flipped out when he thought that they made "just a few tapes" of Rory. Yeah, it was a misunderstanding. But I would love to read or write a fic where it would be real. Not a funny one, of course, because there's nothing funny about that. But...
