Watching The Magnificent Seven
Mar. 21st, 2011 11:10 pmLady Killers: Poor JD. That boy had so much bad luck! First Casey caught him with that crazy lady, then he got shot - by said crazy lady. Oh man, Buck was pissed. So pissed! I loved the scene where he asked the Judge if a rope knew the difference between a woman's neck and a man's - and if he would judge the same. Poor Buck. He blamed himself so much.
It was great that in this episode, Vin and Ezra were the comic relief. I can actually understand why Vin and Ezra are the second most popular pairing in this fandom. They do share some very funny scenes together throughout the series. Poor Vin, got his ribs busted, then he got himself in a very delicate situation with Casey - but at least he had the last laugh when Ezra had to talk himself out of a tight spot with Casey too. Ha!
Serpents: What was wrong with the actress playing Mary in this one? If she had wriggled her butt a bit more, it would've fallen off. Wow, that was some bad acting.
So much temptation - money for Ezra and Josiah and the sharpshooter rifle for Vin. I loved that Josiah gave Ezra the money to prove to him that he couldn't be trusted with it and not because the others didn't trust him where it counted - with their lives - but as you wouldn't give a bottle to an alcoholic, you wouldn't give large amounts of money to Ezra, it was simply a bad idea and everybody knew it. And in the end, Ezra understood it too, that the temptation was simply too much for him, so it was better to remove it from his grasp. But I was glad that he overcame his instincts and came back when he saw the assassin.
And Vin and the gun. Wow! Give Vin a long range rifle and he will hit anything. As he told Nathan - to have a rifle like that, to hold such a power in your hands, it's a mighty temptation for any man. This episode pretty much cemented Vin as the sharpshooter of the seven.
Oh, and Buck and his lady, Luisa. I thought it fit perfectly that Buck's perfect woman was an emancipated, strong-willed lady. He always respected women and put them on a pedestal...
Only one episode to go :( I left it for tomorrow because I just don't want the series to end. This team, these seven men are... It's such a wonderful show, showcasing all the characters, not sidelining any one of them. It's awesome!
