She snuggled closer to him. "You sound... disturbed," she observed.

He sighed. "How do you... How do you live up to faith like that?" he asked, slightly distraught.

She patted his chest and smiled. "You do your best, honey, you do your best."

I love El and her pearls of wisdom.

Carrie Vaughn's "Kitty and the Midnight Hour", #29

Review: Liked it a lot! It reminded me of Patricia Briggs' "Mercedes Thompson/Alpha & Omega" books. What I loved about it was that we met Kitty at her lowest point, at a moment when she told herself that enough was enough and she started fighting for herself. And the ending? I actually cried, it was so sad. It doesn't happen often that I cry while reading books but this time I did. Vaughn really knows how to stir emotions.

Looking forward to book #2 in the series!

It's set to Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" and it's basically a Peter/Neal or Peter/El/Neal vid - beware of spoilers for the whole season incl. the season finale! And you know what? Seen like that... The "bromance" - as the USA's PR called it - between Peter and Neal really is epic! \o/

Jones hadn't been on the team for the initial chase. Diana had been, right at the beginning of her probationary period, before her medical leave which extended her stay with the unit. She'd told him fantastic stories about the con artist who'd ordered pizza for the agents trailing him with all of their favorite toppings. And the time he'd thrown a surprise party for the team who'd been chasing him through Wales. And the notes he'd left for Peter, hidden in the weave of the newspaper delivered to his house. (Brilliant, she'd said, and fun. Peter's crazy about him.)

I just love the amazing team!spirit in this fic. Told from Cruz and Jones' POV, you learn more about them and the team and Neal - and how awesome they are all together!
