You know, reading the unfulfilled Yuletide requests, I started thinking of what my unusual requests would be, if I joined something like that. Hm, I went for actual gay pairings, in books this time...

#1 - Wen Spencer: "Dog Warrior" (Ukiah Oregon #4) - Atticus/Hikaru - those two? Cute as a button!
#2 - Patricia Briggs: (Mercedes Thompson series) - Kyle/Warren - they need much more space, maybe even a story of their own!
#3 - Pepper Espinoza: "The Obsolete Man" - James/Chad - I would love to know what happened after Chad convinced James not to kill himself!
#4 - Josh Lanyon: "Somebody Killed His Editor" (Holmes & Moriarity) - Kit/JX - these two? McKay and Sheppard, banter included!
#5 - Poppy Z. Brite - "Liquor" - Rickey/G-Man - I need to see some intimacy, not just hints!

And what would be your unusual pairings/stories?

Synopsis... )

Review: 2nd in the Remy Chandler series. Better than the first and as before, very Supernatural like in its take on angels. In this book, Remy has to stop the Nomads from releasing Lucifer. And as is usual in Sniegoski's books, the creatures of both Heaven and Hell turn out to be pretty much selfish bastards. Though I admit that sometimes it was hard for me to understand Remy's reasoning: like, he's blaming everything that happened - the war in Heaven, the rift between the fallen angels who stood with Lucifer and the host of Heaven - on Lucifer alone despite doubting God's mercy and the rightfulness of the actions of the Heaven's host himself. So yeah, in the end, reading the book you really do feel like Dean Winchester who told both the demons and the angels to go and screw themselves because neither party was righteous in its doings and goals. I think that people who like the 4th and 5th season of Supernatural would like this series.

So, I started listening to stories posted in Amplificathon!

SLASH --> McShep, AU: "The Long Engagement" by omg_wtf_yeah, read twtd. Summary: McShep Steampunk!Atlantis AU. John is the leader of the Sheppard Circus Company. Lost in their travels, the troupe happens on the hidden city of Atlantis where McKay is the mistrustful leader of the Lanteans. Length: 51.000 words/4hrs 43mins.

John shook his head and propped his hands on his sweat-slick hips. He raised his face to the sky and thought of what had brought them there – he thought of McKay and Jennifer, of the time Rodney and he had spent together, how they'd fought. Despite how hard he'd pushed him, McKay had always pushed back. John's heart pained him as he contemplated the road away from Atlantis and McKay.

Quite an original story, let me tell you. I've never read steam punk before :P
