Lookie, I felt creative yesterday and thus I made a couple of Bones icons from the new promo pics, nothing fancy, I just cut it out and re-sized :P

Icons! )

Also, me and icons? I hate washed-out colors so all my icons are colorful and vibrant and they might seem rather dark to some people, but I just love this type of pics :)

I finished the Leverage S1 DVDs! The audio commentary to The Second David Job was hilarious - especially the part where they were talking about Christian Kane! In the scene where Eliot was calling Nate's ex-wife? It was all Christian Kane, not "Eliot". According to the commentators, Christian used his own voice in that scene, the voice he uses when he's seducing women! 8D And the last part of the scene where Nate's asking about why Eliot is pulling back his hair and Eliot sputters angrily? All improvised! And the writers and the director LOVED it! XD

It's true that the show and the characters' progress make much more sense when you watch the episodes as they are listed on the DVDs, not as they were aired on TNT. On the DVDs you see clearly how the team's getting closer and how Nate's drinking problem is getting worse... I'm glad I waited for the DVDs!

Synopsis: Sector 221-G: For the whole of Federation history, this large area of space has been controlled by the Thallonians, a cruel, militaristic race of which little is knownexcept that they rule the other races in their sector with vicious iron hand. Now the Thallonian Empire has collapsed and the systems it once ruled are in chaos. The Federation must send a starship to help where it can and report what it finds. That ship is the USS Excalibur, a newly refit Ambassador-class starship commanded by Captain Mackenzie Calhoun and manned by Starfleet's best and brightest, including some old friends from Star Trek: The Next Generation and some of the most dynamic new characters ever to crew a Federation starship.

Review: This omnibus consists of four ST:NF books: "House of Cards", "Into the Void", "The Two-Front War" and "End Game". ST:NF basically tells the stories of the USS Excalibur and its crew - and it's so good! The truth is that you need to read these four books together because they tell one story, they are not stand-alone.

I love the characters, they are real heroes in the old sense of the word. The female characters are strong without being bitchy or arrogant. And the plot, I really like it. It would have been great to see the special effects on screen. But the best part? The dialogs! The book is not dark and gloomy, it's fun and full of adventure and the banter - especially between Si Cwan and Kebron - is hilarious!

Conclusion? I will definitely keep buying books in this series, that's for sure!

Synopsis: Kantarou and company are duped into exterminating youkai for a beautiful and powerful businesswoman with a nasty secret! And that's just the start of this volume's gripping revelations when a new enemy appears. Meet Raikou Minamoto, a fellow youkai exterminator--who is determined to kill the legendary Demon-Eating tengu!

Review: The two main stories were great. The specials kinda... lame, I guess. Utter crack. I prefer fun with some substance. But the two main cases were rather intriguing, especially the one about the opium smuggling ring. I loved the little chat between Kantarou and Haruka, when Haruka realized that he and Kantarou really are getting closer, becoming friends and not just a master and a servant. That one was cool!

Wow!

According to The Numbers, Fast and Furious sold over 1.7 mil. DVDs this week making over 27 mil. dollars! That's what I call a profitable movie: It cost $85 mil., in the theaters it made $340+ mil. worldwide and in its first week, it sold DVDs for $27+ mil.!

A friend of mine told me that she had been having troubles leaving comments to entries in my LJ, LJ just wouldn't let her. That happened repeatedly. And so I have a question for you: Do you have similar problems? Just click on the comment link and see if it opens the comment box for you, you don't have to leave a comment, just see if it works. And because some of you might have these troubles - and how would you tell me being unable to leave a comment in the first place? - I made a poll, so just choose what works for you, ok?

[Poll #1442618]

Thank you for your help, folks!

I'm so looking forward to USA's new series White Collar! It looks so good: action, fun and hilarious banter! So cool!

I wonder when this show'll actually start airing...

Yay, the eps of S2 are - at least so far - much better than S1's! *bounces*

2x01 )

2x02 )

You know, the team feels much more like a family this season. I don't know why. Maybe the writers finally really "got" the characters? And it's fun how they are trying to hide Gina Bellman's pregnancy :P
