Psych 3x08, my spoilery thoughts... )

No new eps until next year? Buh! X(

SGA fic rec! Or better said, SG-1/SGA fic rec!
SLASH --> "50 things about John Sheppard and Cam Mitchell" by [livejournal.com profile] bluflamingo. Yes, it's a John Sheppard/Cameron Mitchell fic and I love it to pieces. I always thought that John and Cam would be so hot together and I lamented the fact that they had had only one scene together on the shows. This fic is simply awesome. It shows how their relationship started and developed over the years, during both shows and after. It's amazing! Words: 5.000.

From GateWorld's Five Ways To Make SGU Awesome article:

1. MAKE IT SPACESHIP-BASED. "Stargate Universe will go not just to a new galaxy but to many new galaxies, increasing the story ideas exponentially." Right, basically they need other galaxies because they are running out of ideas.

2. REACH A NEW AUDIENCE. "Hold-over viewers from the first two series, loyal as we are, will simply continue to age and lose interest." Way to go, TPTB. Now you insulted all the viewers of SG-1 and SGA.

3. WRITE MORE CHARACTER DRAMA. "Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis fit squarely in the "action-adventure" style of show. This has made for great fun, but it often comes at the expense of dramatic moments between the characters." True, but they do realize that action episodes like Be All My Sins Remembered or The Daedalus Variations usually have the highest ratings, right? People watch it because it's action-adventure! That's what makes it different and so much fun!

4. CREATE BAD GUYS WITH PERSONALITY. "The Wraith, on the other hand, have struggled as an entertaining villain because -- before characters like Michael and Todd -- they were not personalized." I very much preferred them scary and mysterious, thank you very much.

5. TAKE RISKS. "If the show's producers are willing to go outside the familiar and well-worn path of what Stargate looks and feels like, they'll have a winner on their hands." Uh, sorry, but I don't think so. Change the franchise too much and you'll lose faithful viewers because the new product will be too different and you still won't reach new viewers because the new product won't be different enough - Star Trek's Enterprise anyone?

This article screams too much of a desperate "please, please, please, give us a chance". I think that they didn't count on a) SGA's cancellation and b) badly chosen words alienating fans so much. Are they really that dumb or are they trying to sabotage the new project on purpose?
