My semi-annual dentist visit went well *dances merrily* I hate dentists!

[livejournal.com profile] lostandalone22!!! Your card is here! *smooches you* Aww, it's so cute! *smooches more*

Last night, I read an amazing, terrific and terrifying Supernatural fic, one of the best that I've come across yet...

"The Old Gods Return" by [livejournal.com profile] fleshflutter! The whole thing with the gods began with an old professor asking Sam and Dean a small favor: he wanted them to retrieve a book for him, a book that could awaken the Old Gods.
It's WINCEST, it's... err, that would be spoilery... It's a really creepy horror story and a case fic too, but the boys aren't just killing a demon or exorcising a ghost, they are a part of the case themselves. It's a Xover with the world of H. P. Lovecraft and wow, it's so good. Go, read and comment! Oh my, I'm so smitten *swoons*

First thing first - I have a new layout. Yes, another one XP

I finally finished reading "American Gods" by Neil Gaiman. It'll probably never be my favorite book but once I quit trying to make some sense of it, it started to get quite enjoyable. And I loved Shadow, especially his attitude.

It's rather frustrating when you can't say exactly why you like a certain fic. When you can break it down to one particular scene or characterization, it's easy. But with [livejournal.com profile] fleshflutter's "The Old Gods Return" or with [livejournal.com profile] astolat's "Road to Shambala" it's not possible. I just can't pin it down or make a list, I can't explain the WHY and it makes me totally flustered! When you can't explain why you like something, how can you ask for help with finding similar stuff? Similar to WHAT?! *tears her hair out*

I think I just totally confused you, huh? XP
