Does the word "Ruffett" or "Ruffetts" mean anything in the English language? Or does it hint at something? Maybe it's an old expression for something? In the book I'm translating now, there is this place called "Ruffetts View" and I have to somehow translate it into Czech X(

And BTW - does anybody know how long will be the "memories" section of LJ "temporarily" disabled? *sarcasm*

normally when places are "something view" it's a name not a word, so there was probably someone called Ruffet there. You don't have to change the word.

I would agree that it's a name and not necessarily an alternate meaning for something.

To give reference, it would be like the Sears Building, or Pike's Peak ... or just plain ol' - Lookout Point.

As for the memories thing .. that's going to piss me off if it stays 'unavailable' for much longer. I've things archived by memory clips in there that I'm going to want to find, and won't if I can't get at it!
