Cote de Pablo Leaving NCIS

katikatWell, that's a bummer. Cote de Pablo AKA Ziva David is leaving NCIS. She will be back for the season premiere to finish Ziva's storyline and that will be it for her: link.
Ef. It. I know that many people had a problem with Ziva but I didn't. I liked her. A lot. I liked her and Tony. I wouldn't have minded them becoming a couple. But now, that will never happen. Thank you so much, Gary Glasberg, for this fumble! *sarcasm* I hated what he did with Tony and Ziva in S10, his "one step forward, two steps back" strategy annoyed the hell out of me. So much so, that I still haven't seen the last 4 or so episodes. He actually promised the fans that Tony and Ziva would become an item, that they were just taking it slow. Glaciers move faster, Mr. Glasberg!
I already planned on dropping NCIS from my viewing schedule in the fall but this is the proverbial nail in the coffin. Now I really don't feel like watching anymore. I don't blame Cote de Pablo, she's still young and if she wants a career outside the show, she needs to start it now. Who I do blame for the fiasco the show turned into - IMHO, of course - is Gary Glasberg. Shane Brennan was no genius but he actually wove interesting arcs and managed to keep up the ratings. Glasberg ran the show to the ground in one season.
If you still enjoy the show, good for you. I mean it. Don't let anyone harsh your squee. But once I have watched the last 4 eps of S10 - who knows when that will be - I'm outta here. I will get S11 on DVD later on, I have the first 7 after all, but I will be in no rush to do it. This might change, of course, based on how interesting Ziva's replacement will be. Other than that, though, I'm done for the time being.
