Tomorrow's ep of NCIS:LA marks the beginning of the RED arc, the planted pilot for a possible spin-off, a double feature of episodes. So, I decided to catch up on the show tonight and keep the rest, eps 418 and onward, for later viewing.
You know, if I should choose one show with the best portrayal of women on TV, I would choose NCIS:LA. Hetty, Kensi and Nell are simply amazing! They are smart, kick-ass - literally! - and funny, self-confident and strong yet feminine, every one of them in her own way. And it's wonderful!
Also, I will be so happy once the Sam-centric storyline is over and done with! I love the guy, I really, really do. He's smart, strong, funny - but why are his storylines always so boring/annoying?
That annoyed me to hell and back, that Sam couldn't let his wife simply do her job. He behaved like a neanderthal, to be honest. As Michelle told him, she knew what she was doing! She had been doing this job long before he became an agent! Grr!
And Sam's storylines. Another "I brought him over from XYZ country" boy? Doesn't it get old? :/
But I adored all the Kensi/Deeks scenes in these 4 episodes. When she asked him to promise her not to die. When he admitted to earning his money as a stripper in the past. When he read her diary. When she refused to tell him what was in the box. When he had to go undercover to the gay sauna. When they investigated together in the woods!
And Nell! Hetty is definitely grooming her for her own position. And Nell is doing an awesome job! I loved the scene where she told Erik he had no right to forbid her to do her job, to do what she wanted. I loved it because she didn't sound like a bitch. She made a reasonable argument and made him see things from her point of view. That was wonderful.
So, Callen is still my favorite character. Closely followed by Deeks. And Nell.
