Benedict Cumberbatch confirmed that both he and Martin Freeman signed up for S4! Source. He would also like the show to continue even beyond S4 but it all depends on everybody's availability.

When asked about ep 301, he also said: "You are in for an absolute stonker. It's going to be a treat." Source.

There's also first casting news: link. People immediately started speculating whom said actor will play... if Moriarty's brother or Moran. Or someone else completely. I could see him as Moran. He seems to have the proper gravitas for that!
