Bad Boys

I can't believe that it's been already 18 years since Bad Boys came out! 18 years! This movie has such a 90s feel to it, very Lethal Weapon, over the top kind of thing with slightly cartoonish villains. But it's still a fun movie to watch, first and foremost because of Will Smith and Martin Lawrence who are A-class in this!

Gosh, I had such a crush on Will Smith back when I was a teen. And in this movie, he kicked so much ass. I liked his character, Lowrey, a bit better than Martin Lawrence's Burnett, maybe because Lowrey was more of an action hero whereas Burnett was more a comic relief - not that Burnett didn't kick some major ass in the movie. But man, when Will Smith appeared on-screen? HOT! I loved the scenes where Lowrey went super serious, like when he told Burnett that he would never betray him, that they had been friends for so many years, how could Burnett even think that Lowrey would cheat on him with Burnett's wife?! Or when Lowrey shot the bad guy at the very end, just pulled his gun and emptied it into the son of bitch without batting an eyelash. Sheesh, that was kind of hot. I love competent men!

Funny, funny movie. And Will Smith and Martin Lawrence had such a fantastic chemistry together! I wish there was a TV show like that, I could so imagine Aldis Hodge playing Will Smith's character, he would kick ass as Lowrey!
