How did I not know this? This is apparently old news, from June/July last year. And I just found out. The upcoming 7th season of Lewis will be the show's last.
Laurence Fox has revealed that the seventh series of ITV1 detective drama Lewis will be the show's last.

"Kev and I have decided we want to do other things, otherwise it all gets a bit samey," he told The Daily Telegraph.

And not just that - I wouldn't actually mind the cancellation that much since it was the actors' decision. But instead of three 90 min. long movies, there will be six 45 min. long episodes. And Laurence Fox's Hathaway will be in only 2-3 of them, Lewis' is namely getting a new side-kick. Really? REALLY?!
Pardon my French, but for fuck's sake, they couldn't have kept the duo together for 6 measly episodes and give us a nice ending? Why introduce a new main character for just a handful of eps? I at least hope that Hathaway's departure will lead to Lewis quitting his job or something. This show's best feature has always been the friendship between Lewis and Hathaway. If they poop on that, I will kick someone in the kisser! :-/
