You know, till the series finale, I have never thought of Gwaine and Percival as a possible Merlin pairing but now? Wow. I mean seriously! Gwaine's death literally broke Percival. I mean, they lost Lancelot and Elyan and he never reacted like that. But the way he caught Gwaine's face in his hands and touched his forehead to Gwaine's, crying when he died... And Percival never got over it. And then I saw this tumblr gif set: link. All I could think was: Was I actually blind?!

So now, I have three pairings in this fandom.
-- My main one is Arthur/Merlin, of course - the finale made them as close to canon as possible. No matter the heartbreak, there was no doubt that these two were meant to be together and that they would be together again, one day. This is more than fans of any other slash pairing out there ever got, right?
-- My second favorite is Gwaine/Merlin - I mean, have you seen their last scene? Sheesh!
-- And my third is Gwaine/Percival. Their last scene... wow, just wow. That was definitely NOT pure friendship.

So many options! I have never had so many pairings in one fandom before, not ones that I loved almost equally. Fantastic!

Also, Eoin Macken (Gwaine) and Tom Hopper (Percival) filmed a movie togethere called Cold: link. It was written and directed by Eoin and Tom Hopper plays the main part in it. Very little is known about who plays whom, but the synopsis says:

This is a dramatic feature film called 'Cold', written and directed by myself, Eoin C. Macken. The story is inspired by a piece in John Steinbecks East of Eden, and the plot centres around two disconnected English brothers who are ostracized in a small village in the west of Ireland. Drawn back together by the unexpected and mysterious death of their father, they are immediately at odds until they find a girl dumped still alive in the moors. What follows is a bizarre turn of events, both beautiful and surreal as the two brothers search for their own resolution. At turns both a love story and the resolution of cracked relationships, the film has a incredible and unexpected twist.

I had honestly no idea that Eoin has directed so many movies already. Good for him. I hope this movie is a success. Sometimes, indie movies made with love are so much better than soulless blockbusters. Also, I think I will follow Eoin's career more closely. Of all the knights, I liked him best.
