NCIS:LA spin-off?

According to TVLine.com - link - CBS is planning an NCIS:LA spin-off, a two-parter that could serve as a backdoor pilot, the way Legend I+II served as a pilot for NCIS:LA.

The as-yet-untitled offshoot will first be glimpsed as a two-part episode of NCIS:LA airing later this season — making it a “planted pilot,” as NCIS:LA itself was — and follow a mobile team of agents who live and work together as they cross the country solving crimes.

I will reserve my judgment mostly because my interest or lack thereof will depend on the actors chosen for the main parts. Because, let's be honest, if NCIS:LA hadn't cast Chris O'Donnell? I wouldn't have given it a second thought.
