Brendan Fraser on TV!

katikatHey! Brendan Fraser got the leading part in TNT's Legends!
Awesome! I hope it allows him to show his acting chops. Everybody and their uncle remembers him from The Mummy and most people consider him a lovable doofus, but anyone who saw Gods and Monsters where he played the object of Ian McKellen's obsession, knows this guy can ACT! And here he will have to spread his wings because the show will basically rest on his shoulders, on his ability to pull off the multi-faceted undercover persona.
You know, I hope the show's more like The Pretender than NCIS:LA in that regard. Michael T. Weiss was amazing as Jarod, his ability to be someone else in every episode was stunning. Don't get me wrong, I love Chris O'Donnell and he's the perfect fit for the character Callen turned out to be - but he really doesn't have a broad range of acting skills, his Callen looks/seems the same in every undercover bit he takes, that doesn't really sound like a "Legend". Chris O'Donnell does a woobie really well. A complex character though? Not so much.
So, go, Brendan Fraser! Looking forward to it.
Legends follows a deep-cover operative named Martin Odum [Brendan Fraser], who has an uncanny ability to transform himself into a different person for each job. But his own identity comes into question when a mysterious stranger suggests that Martin isn’t who he thinks he is.
