The Bourne Legacy

Went to see The Bourne Legacy and loved it! Loved it even more than the previous Bourne films with Matt Damon. Maybe because Aaron and Marta are a much better couple than Jason and Marie ever were. Yeah, I've never been a fan of Marie. Didn't shed one tear when she was offed. Marta on the other hand...
Wow! Rachel Weisz was simply fantastic. Marta was completely out of her element, shaken and desperate, but when push came to shove, she protected Aaron with all her might. I also loved that TPTB chose an age appropriate actress for the part, no wet behind the ears girl. She and Jeremy Renner had great chemistry. He kicked major ass! And yet, when it came to feelings, he was believable without overdoing it. I actually believed that these two would make a great couple!
Before I continue with the spoilery stuff, I have a couple of things to say about the negative reviews that are being posted on the net and about some of the BS they spout:
a) There's little action/less action than in the previous movies: Not true. The movie is nicely paced with a little downtime between major action scenes. There's just as much action as in Matt Damon's films.
b) The plot doesn't make sense: Not true if you've seen the first trilogy - if you didn't, WHY are you watching a movie called The Bourne LEGACY, knowing it's the 4th in a series? The plot makes perfect sense and you don't even have to strain your brain that hard, you just need to actually pay attention.
Don't trust the negative reviews, friends. It's a really, really good movie that stays true to the previous trilogy yet goes its own way.
I loved, LOVED Aaron's background. The scene in which he admitted to Marta that before he joined the program, his intelligence was bellow average, that he was stupid and he didn't want to degenerate again, that he could NOT go back to that state... That was when she understood and decided to do whatever she could to help him. Beautiful. It was THE moment in the movie, THE heart of the whole thing.
I loved that Marta didn't leave Aaron, that she stuck with him and then yelled a warning even if it meant risking her own freedom/life. And that it was she who killed the assassin they sent after them. That was amazing!
Edward Norton was amazing as Byer. Loved the scenes in which he remembered Aaron, remembered meeting him, or when he watched the vid/photographs. That was intense!
I would give this movie 9/10. It was so, so good! I hope they make a sequel and that Marta doesn't kick it like Marie did. I love Marta!
