While exploring JGL's filmography, I came across 3rd Rock From the Sun, the sitcom in which he stared in the years 1996-2001. I've always caught just an ep here or there when it was on TV, so I downloaded the first few eps - and fell hard for it. Tommy and his deadpan humor, him being an old man in a young body, are the best! I loved the scene in which he and Sally "killed" the green jello, thinking it was an alien life form. Or when Sally complained about being a woman and why did she have to be a woman and they all told her "Because you lost!" LOL.
And that lead me to ordering the first 3 seasons on DVD from Amazon DE, go me XP
I really loved what JGL and John Lithgow said about his young self from back then: source.
JGL: "[I was] a sort of serious little dude -- snobby," he says. At risk of becoming a "hopeless ivory-tower douchebag." According to the new article, that's all changed and Gordon-Levitt is having more fun as an adult.
John Lithgow: "He was a very mature boy. I remember him carrying on about the ecological damage that is done when people build new golf courses. What teenager worries about that? And now he's a very youthful adult. He's done a flip-flop."
That's actually really sweet. I'm glad that he escaped the douche trap and became a great human being. I think that being a kid in Hollywood is really demanding, everybody has this huge expectations that they lay on you. I think it's great that he made it as an adult, that he now can be who he wants to be and not what others want him to be.
