My/Mai HiME

katikatI'm not actually sure what the correct title of this anime is. Some call it My HiME, others Mai HiME. But that's just a detail ;)
The series itself... wow... it's... I'm not ashamed to admit that that's probably the best anime series I've seen in a long time. The plot just pulls you in at the very beginning and you just can't stop watching, you're completely and totally addicted. It's beautifully drawn, there are great seiyuus (Ishida Akira just to name one) and the action sequences... wow. While watching, you actually don't know for who to root since there are no actual baddies there. Oh, and don't forget the music. The chant-like or opera-like song simply fits the overall atmosphere of this anime. And the pairings! The pairings! Again, I'm not ashamed to admit that although I'm a big slash/yaoi fan, here I truly love and enjoy the het pairings. Especially the Akira/Takumi pairing.
Hm, now to find other animes like this one. You see *lowers her voice and looks around warily* I love animes with strong females that protect that somewhat "weaker" male counterparts. And here it's just perfect. The males are strong personalities themselves, they just do not posses the powers of HiMEs and so they can't meddle in the fighting.
So, could someone rec me an anime similar to My HiME? With all - or at least most - of the attributes mentioned above? I would much appreciate it!
Now I'm off to bed. I have classes tomorrow - err, today morning! :)

Anou...I did download and saw the two episodes of Loveless. O_o; Is confused, no da!
Yeah, he's in the 6th grade...that's like 12 - but he's not...human, right? What's with the ears and tail? So...the age thing doesn't squick me so much because it's totally NOT RL...he's a cat, damn it! ^^;

So that means Soubi isn't? *drools* I can't believe a hottie like that would be a virgin anyway. ^___^ But what's up with his brother? Gah! Dying for the next episode already!
As for MoB, sorry! I completely forgot! I haven't seen it again but if I remember correctly, it's his 'adopted' brother, you remember the one that put the siege on his castle? The one Naoe was working for when Kagetora died. He may have been the brother because his men and he, clearly didn't want Kagetora around. *pets him*
