For the first time since I started watching this show, I can honestly say I HATED an episode of DW. This two-parter was awful!
Except for the Doctor himself, I hated every one of the characters! Well, I did love Nasreene, she rocked. And the aliens' head honcho, that guy was sweet. But the mother? Wow, I wanted to slap her. Like seriously slap her until her teeth rattled. It was all her fault, every thing that happened after the Doctor went away, every one - and she got away with it! No punishment at all. Seriously?! The Doctor told her what would happen if she killed the prisoner. He TOLD her! And she did it anyway and THEN STARTED WAILING, "Booo, I did it. My faaaaaaaaaaaault!" Yes, YES, YOU DID and it should've been an eye for an eye. She almost caused a war between two races! She should've died for killing a prisoner. That's a war crime. And that should've been the end of the conflict, justice done. And instead? Her father had to be put in the stasis, Nasreen lost her life's work and Rory died. And THAT WOMAN WASN'T PUNISHED AT ALL?! What the fuckity fuck?!
I seriously hope that the writer of this two-parter, Chris Chibnall, didn't write many episodes because I can't remember the last time I saw something this idiotic and ham-fisted! Grr!
