Interview with Steve Moffat

katikatDigitalspy posted an interesting interview with Steve Moffat: link. It's slightly spoilery for the episodes that already aired, but he takes care not to spoil the upcoming finale.
There were bits that I really liked, like the one with the funeral and someone's phone playing Stayin' Alive - funeral or not, that would've cracked me up - or:
Mark Gatiss is such a sweet nerd!
But this part made a lot nervous:
No, please, just no. Marriage in the 19th century and today are two vastly different things, just like Watson's medical practice. With John married and living somewhere else, possibly even being a doctor again, I can't see him having any time running around with Sherlock.
I could see Sherlock pretending to be dead at the end of 203 and 301 doing a big time jump, ffwding a few years, and with John convinced Sherlock was dead marrying and moving on. But that's it. I mean, they established John as a man who couldn't remember his current g-friend didn't have a dog! I can't see this John settled with a wife, yet running around with Sherlock. It would be either - or, IMHO.
I'm hoping here that they won't do it, that they won't go there since it seems like Moffat himself isn't all that sure they actually want to do it. On the other hand, why would he mention it, right? *sigh* Tell me I'm reading too much into it? Please?

He and Holmes don't always live together and I think that's become a lazy way of doing Sherlock Holmes - they always live together. They didn't actually and why would they? Nobody flat-shares forever, so there's loads of details we can get in there..."
