Merlin 408

This is the first time this season that I'm actually slightly disappointed by an episode...
Don't get me wrong, Merlin was awesomely competent and Gwen really kicked ass, but it was all at the expense of Merlin being a joke to Arthur again. I mean, two episodes ago, Arthur was ready to tear apart the forest to find Merlin - but now it was only Gwen who he was after. That seemed rather odd. I get that Merlin's just his servant, still...
I guess the 2nd half of this season really will be very Arthur/Gwen heavy. Too bad that when the writers go for them, the friendship between Arthur and Merlin always suffers for it. It's like the writers can't find a proper balance.
Also, was I the only one who thought, well, Merlin's immune to you, babe, because he's gay? That would have really fit there too. I mean, he wasn't immune to her magic completely, just to her spell, after all :P
And the preview? More shipping? Eh. Again, for the first time this season, I'm actually not looking forward to an episode. You know, it feels like they began the season very Arthur&Merlin heavy, then they started weaning us off to make room for Arthur/Gwen, which is only going to get stronger from now on, I guess.
