And when Erik's too tired and too raw from all the hate and anger, he comes back, drops to his knees next to Charles' wheelchair and lays his bare head in his friend's lap.

And Charles runs his fingers gently through Erik's hair, blanketing his mind with warmth and acceptance, his soft words - You're not alone, my friend... - wafting through it.

And Erik's tempted, oh so tempted...

But in the end, he always leaves, pressing a dry kiss to Charles' forehead, strengthened anew by the knowledge that there's an absolute good in his world worth fighting for.
