DA: In the film your character got to be really good friends with Esca (Jamie Bell). Do you still keep in contact with him?
CT: Yeah, a lot. You see each other so intensely for a certain amount of time, like we were together for over three months, you know, every day, every single day. And then you just leave. It’s sort of like you go through withdrawals you know, you’re kinda like, ‘I wonder what Jamie’s doing?’ You just want to call him and hang out. But you just get busy. It’s hard to keep in touch with people, but he will always be one of my dearest friends. I’m actually gonna see him soon so I’m excited. Their characters can barely tolerate each other, but Bell and Tatum hit it off immediately. "I met Channing before we started this job so I just thought he was such a nice guy from the second I saw him," said Bell (...). "He's so charismatic. His energy is so warm. I literally, after the first time I met him, I described him as the nicest person in the world because he is just the nicest guy. You know, our working relationship was really great. I've had a soft spot for Channing Tatum since GI Joe - which I loved, so hush! - and it's great to hear that he's actually a really nice guy in RL. Reading all the interviews, I just want to cuddle and squish those two silly, for real!
