Fast Five! I finally saw Fast Five! And yowza, was that awesome or what? But I think this movie needs to be seen more than once - it's not a two-man movie anymore, like Fast & Furious was, this is a team show about family and to appreciate all the nuances, it needs re-watching. Maybe that's why it's doing so amazingly well at the box office? 364 mil. USD worldwide so far?
This movie wasn't as Dom and Brian centric as the 4th one, which is a shame. It was awesome, don't get me wrong, and I felt the closeness between Dom and Brian much more acutely than in the previous film and there were HUGS! Yet, it wasn't about Dom and Brian anymore, you know what I mean?
I loved the team, them kicking ass, Dom's plan, Brian absolute faith in him... I loved how perfectly in sync Dom and Brian were in the last action scene.
And Hobbs. Wow, Dwayne Johnson is really something, isn't he? *_*
Hey, Alimi Ballard was there! Why didn't I know that? And Eva Mendez!
The action was breathtaking, seriously. It wasn't slow-going-on-a-big-finale, it was one action sequence after another and with a real story too!
I'm not sure about the Letty twist at the end. I admit that I don't like Michele Rodriguez all that much, which might be the reason, but it felt like one twist too many maybe?
Bring on #6!
