Fantasy books
Feb. 15th, 2011 08:34 pmOkay, friends *cracks knuckles* Rec me your favorite fantasy books. What do you think I might like? And I mean FANTASY, not URBAN FANTASY or SCI-FI, but HIGH FANTASY.
What do I like? Books about adventures and friendship, not so much romance per se and definitely nothing dark with unhappy endings, that's a big no-no for me.
What would I rec?
-> Anything by Lynn Flewelling, of course. I mean, is there someone who loves slash and fantasy and hasn't read the "Nightrunner" series?
-> Steven Brust's "Vlad Taltos", but only the books that actually take place in Dragaera.
-> Jane S. Fancher's "Dance of the Rings" trilogy. If you like the co-dependency between Sam and Dean Winchester, you will love Mikhyel and Deymorin.
-> Joshua Palmatier's "The Throne of Amenkor", because the heroine is frickin' awesome.
And books I didn't like? Adrian Tchaikovsky's "Empire in Black and Gold", Christie Golden's "Vampire of the Mists" or Margaret Weis' "Dragons of a Fallen Sun".
So, anything worth rec'ing? And if it has elves in it, the better ;)
